The Pumpkin Traverse - Lipalian Mountain, Purple Mound, and Unity Peak Route Map (see link in desciption - or click here - for interactive version).

After looking for (and finding) the lake, down Lipalian's south-east ridge, we decided to side-hill directly towards the col between Lipalian and Purple Mound. This avoided having to climb back up Lipalian, only to follow the ridge back down anyways.

I guess the lake hunt was all for nothing...we would've seen it here anyways!

An easy hike up gentle scree leads to the summit.

The origin of the name "Purple Mound" is pretty obvious...
